BARROW, AK, June 26, 2010 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Ellen R. Sovalik has been accepted among the ranks of premier professionals with Stanford Who's Who as a result of her magnificent work for the community. As Director of North Slope Borough Department of Health and Social Services, as well as throughout her incredible 20 years with the department, Ellen has routinely exhibited the vision, knowledge and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.

The North Slope Borough Department of Health and Social Services strives to promote healthy communities as well as provide culturally sensitive physical and behavioral health services that support residents of the North Slope in achieving their potential in meaningful life activities, and to live as contributing and healthy members of their families and communities.

Ellen is responsible for overseeing seven programs including the senior center, public health, nursing, vet clinic, community health and aide program. She is actively involved in community volunteer work and projects. Ellen is also a Tribal Court Judge for the Native Village of Baul.
