Barbara Winston received the 2009 Nurse Hero Award

GILBERT, AZ, January 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Barbara Winston, Health and Wellness Director for Brookdale Senior Living Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in geriatric care.

With 15 years of experience in her field, Ms. Winston specializes in geriatrics. As a health and wellness director, she is responsible for supervising staff, managing pharmaceutical sales, and conducting meetings with families and doctors. She lends her services to two other facilities and oversees employee training. Attributing her success to her passion for geriatrics, Ms. Winston became involved in her profession after a relative was born with cerebral palsy.

Pursuing a Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Ms. Winston earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Phoenix in 2008. A certified preceptor, she is a member of the National Association of Healthcare Assistants, National Federation of Licensed Practical Nurses and the National Student Nurses Association. A volunteer for United Cerebral Palsy, Ms. Winston received the Nurse Hero Award in 2009.
