Glenda Kay Shaver recognized for excellence in healthcare

PERU, IN, November 6, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Glenda Kay Shaver, LPN, Staff Nurse at the Life Care Center of Rochester, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of healthcare.

A recognized authority in geriatric care, Glenda Kay Shaver is known for always putting her patients' needs first. Her efforts did not go unnoticed, as in 2008, she was given Cambridge VIP membership status for demonstrating professional dedication and integrity in her chosen field of practice. Ms. Shaver was also named "Nurse of the Year" by Life Care Center of Rochester, a center providing healthcare including long-term care.

Crediting her success to her perseverance, faith and supportive family, Ms. Shaver advises aspiring nurses and nurse's aids to make sure that they are 100 percent comfortable in the field before they continue in their chosen paths. In an exclusive interview, she noted that she always knew that she wanted to work in geriatric care because she had had a lifelong enjoyment of interacting with elderly citizens. The highlight of her career, in fact, was becoming a licensed practical nurse through Ivy Tech Community College.
