Pastor Walter McMurray Named a Lifetime Member of Cambridge Who's Who

/Seniors News Articles/ - Cleves, OH, April 12, 2008, Walter Edwin McMurray, Pastor for the Immanuel United Church of Christ, will be included as a lifetime member in the 2008-2009 edition of the Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry for excellence in missionary work.

A devoted servant of the Immanuel United Church of Christ for almost four decades, Mr. McMurray previously served his church as treasurer and president counsel before assuming his current position 13 years ago. As pastor, he specializes in missionary work and religious services, and is responsible for distributing food at the Food Pantry and counseling the elderly. He holds missionary work especially close to his heart, and considers building churches with the Mayan Indians in Mexico from 1987 to 1999 to be the highlight of his career so far. His future goals include continuing on more missions and adding to the membership of St. Francis Chapel, which began with only one person 12 years ago, but has now grown to 35 parishioners. He attributes his success to his desire to help people.

Mr. McMurray underwent his training at the Liberty Home Bible Institute, and became a Licensed Minister in 2000. He is affiliated with the Masons and the Shriners of North America, and is treasurer of the Mission Priority Board for the United Church of Christ. He counts Children International and Red Cloud Indian School among his favorite charities.
